I'm unable to identify the recipient. There is a Bird family living at Elizabeth Cottages in the 1901 and 1911 census. The Old Bell is now known as the King's Head and Bell. The front of the building has been remodelled - probably not long after this photo was taken. Visible in the photo is F Tombs, Horses and Traps and Hire. Kelly's Directory of 1905 names Frank Tombs as the landlord of the Old Bell.
